Ride on Time — the Sub-35-Minute Run

Quick answer: Ride on Time unlocks when you complete the game with under 35 minutes on the in-game clock. The official requirement is the only hard fact here; everything below is practical advice, not a frame-perfect route.

Do it on a later run

The 35-minute bar is comfortable once you already know every boss's patterns and every zone's route. Attempt it after your cleanup run, not on a blind first playthrough.

The rules that protect your clock

1. Follow the main route only. None of the hats are required for this achievement — skip every side ledge.
2. Skip the combat tutorial by attacking Chief Fish (also unlocks Quiet, Old Man! on the same run).
3. Pause → Retry Boss beats dying. A checkpoint hunt after a death costs far more clock time than an instant retry.
4. Don't detour for the secret ending — the couch bread is off-route; grab it on another save.

Where the time goes

Deaths in the platforming sections (Ice Caves pillars, Calli's Fortress lava rooms) and slow boss kills. The five bosses are the main bleed — which is exactly why this achievement comes last in the suggested order. We have not yet measured reliable per-zone split targets; when we capture real timed runs, verified splits will be published on the speedrun page.
